The journal “Documenta Pragensia” was founded in 1980. It is published by the Prague City Archives once a year. This proceedings focuses in a wider range on comparative urban history of the Central-European area. Almost each of the volumes is dedicated to a topic corresponding with the annual international conference held by the Prague City Archives and related scientific institutions from the Czech Republic and abroad. The studies have thus origins in the conference contributions. These volumes are accompanied by other issues from the edition series “Documenta Pragensia Supplementa,” that brings various essays on urban history and “Documenta Pragensia Monographia,” that focuses both on editions of historical resources related to Prague and various topics from the history of this city.

The contributions are published in Czech, Slovak, Polish, German and in English and are equipped with a compendious summary in a world language. Each issue includes a list of authors, author affiliations and addresses. Documenta Pragensia are a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Since 2011, it has been included into the European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences (ERIH), nowadays ERIH PLUS.
